HB 1344 -- TRANSIENT GUEST TAXES FOR TOURISM

This bill authorizes any city with a population between 4,400 and 4,900 that is the county seat of a county with a population between 30,000 and 35,000 to impose a tax between two percent and five percent on the charges for all sleeping rooms paid by the transient guests of hotels, motels, bed and breakfast inns, and campgrounds for the purpose of funding the promotion of tourism, subject to voter approval in that city.

Upon enactment, this will apply to the City of Lexington.
