This bill requires that if a business entity, paid political consultant, or an individual that makes a monetary or in-kind contribution on an advertisement, email, internet advertisement, or print or electronic media that in any way depicts or references a licensed excursion gambling boat, then that entity or individual must file a report within 48 hours with the Missouri Ethics Commission of making such a contribution or expenditure.
Such a report must include the following:
(1) The name, address, and contact information of the business entity or individual making the contribution or expenditure;
(2) The amount of the expenditure or value of the contribution made on behalf of the excursion gambling boat, and an indication as to whether the advertisement, email, or print or electronic media was in support or opposition of any matter currently pending before the General Assembly; and
(3) The name, address, and contact information of any individual, organization, business entity, or political committee who contributed to the contribution or expenditure made by the business entity, paid political consultant, or individual.
The licensed excursion gambling boat must also report such expenditures or contributions to the Missouri Gaming Commission. Violations under this law will be a Class A misdemeanor, and any business entity found to be in violation will be dissolved by the Missouri Secretary of State.
