HB 1277 -- TRANSIENT GUEST TAXES FOR TOURISM

This bill allows any city with a population between 5,600 and 6,300 that is the county seat of a county with a population between 22,000 and 25,000 to, upon voter approval, levy a sales tax of up to 2% on the charges for all sleeping rooms paid by guests of hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, and campgrounds for the promotion of tourism.

Upon enactment, this will apply to the City of Richmond.
