This bill creates the offense of sexual exploitation by a clergyperson, which is a class C felony and which a person commits if he or she holds himself or herself out to be a clergyperson, engages in sexual conduct with a person who is not his or her spouse, and the sexual conduct occurred under one of the circumstances described in the bill. Consent of a victim 17 years old or older is a defense to this offense.
This bill is similar to SB 1204 (2022).
