Currently, municipalities are prohibited from adopting any policy that limits or restricts a municipal official from cooperating with a federal agency or official to verify or report the immigration status of a person within the municipality.
This bill repeals this prohibition.
Currently, if a municipal or county governing body fails to suspend the business permit of any business that has been found to employ unauthorized immigrants as workers, it is deemed to have adopted a sanctuary policy, and is subject to the penalties of that law.
This bill repeals this penalty.
