Currently, a license plate can be encased in a transparent cover as long as the plate is visible and its reflective qualities are not impaired. This bill requires that the license plate cover be a transparent nontinted cover and visible to the naked eye and law enforcement image capture technology. Additionally, the license plate frame will not cover any information necessary for law enforcement purposes.
This bill is similar to HB 218 (2025) and HB 2339 (2024).
