This bill provides cause for the Director of Public Safety to deny an application for a peace officer license or to deny entrance into a basic training course when the applicant had a peace officer license that was permanently revoked or surrendered or when the applicant is not a United States citizen.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this provides the Director of Public Safety cause to reject an application when the applicant has previously had a peace officer license permanently revoked or when the applicant is not a U.S. citizen.
Testifying in person for the bill were Representative Roberts; and Jayln Talbot, Department of Public Safety.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
