This bill requires a missing persons unit to be established, beginning January 1, 2026, within any police department in St. Louis County. The bill enumerates specific necessary services the unit must provide. Any police department in St. Louis County can hire additional officers and staff or assign officers or staff currently employed by the department to the missing persons unit. Compensation and benefits for the employees will be paid from the police department's annual operating budget.
