HB 665 -- ROAD ALTERATIONS

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to obtain the consent of the governing body of any city, town, or village with a population of at least 10,000 inhabitants prior to making any major alteration to a state-maintained road within the city, town, or village. In assessing the request by the Department, a city, town, or village must seek input from residents and report its decision to the Department within 30 days of the Department's request for consent.

These requirements do not apply to alterations to highways.
