HB 619 -- PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES

SPONSOR: Brown (16)

This bill establishes "Hannah's Law", which increases the age until which a child must wear a personal flotation device while the child is on board a water craft from seven years old to 12 years old. It also requires a child to wear a personal flotation device while wading or swimming in navigable public waters more than three feet in depth. These provisions do not apply to a child under the age of 12 who is being supervised by a lifeguard.

This bill is the same as SB 176 (2025).
