HB 573 -- ADOPTION

SPONSOR: Amato

Currently, as it pertains to a petition for the termination of parental rights, a juvenile officer is required to meet with the court within 30 days after the filing of the petition in order to determine that all parties have been served with summons and to request that the court order the investigation and social study.

This bill modifies the time frame for this process to be within 60 days after the filing of the petition and changes the person meeting with the court from the juvenile officer to the petitioner.
