HB 510 -- HISTORIC TRAILS

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Special Committee on Tourism by a vote of 10 to 0.

This bill designates certain trails in the State as "Historic Legacy Trails of Missouri". The bill lists 29 trails in Missouri and requires at least two signs be placed along each trail denoting the trail's status as a historic legacy trail.

This bill is the same as HCS HB 1934 (2024)and similar to HB 1376 (2023).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this is a good way to let people know about all the historic trails we have in Missouri. People may travel to Missouri to see these trails.

Testifying in person for the bill was Representative Wilson.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

OTHERS: Others testifying on the bill say this could increase the visibility of some of these trails. The Division of Tourism will pay for the signs.
