This bill makes any oral, written, or sign language confession of a child, defined as someone who was under 18 years old at the time of the offense, made during a custodial interrogation, conducted on or after August 28, 2025, inadmissible as evidence against the child if the person conducting the custodial interrogation knowingly engaged in deception.
This bill is similar to HB 2126 (2024) and HB 792 (2023).
