This bill authorizes the conveyance of State-owned land in Jackson County to the State Highways and Transportation Commission.
The Office of Administration and the State Highways and Transportation Commission will set the terms and conditions for conveyance as is deemed reasonable.
The Attorney General must approve the form of the instrument of conveyance.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this is necessary for the Missouri State Highway Patrol to convey land. It will enable a cost-sharing program for bridge replacement and interchange improvement. The area is heavily congested and is one of the highest crash areas in Lee's Summit. Millions of dollars have been committed to the project.
