This bill establishes the "Accessible Prescription Labels Act".
Each person who receives a prescription drug will be notified by the pharmacy that an accessible prescription label is available to the person upon request at no additional cost. If a person informs a pharmacy that he or she is blind, visually impaired, or otherwise print-disabled, the pharmacy must provide to them an accessible prescription label.
A pharmacy providing a "prescription reader", defined as a device designed to audibly convey the information contained on the label of a prescription drug, will ensure that the prescription label is compatible with the prescription reader.
This bill is similar to HB 2750 (2024) and HB 80 (2023).
