SB 192 - This act modifies provisions relating to the St. Louis City sheriff. This act requires any candidate for the office of sheriff of St. Louis City to hold a valid peace officer license within two years of being elected sheriff. (Section 57.010)

This provision is identical to a provision in HCS/SB 189 (2025) and SS#2/SCS/HCS#2/HB 495 (2025).

This act sets the minimum compensation for the deputy sheriffs of the City of St. Louis to fifty thousand dollars and the sheriff shall set the compensation for deputy assistants. (Section 57.530)

This provision is identical to a provision in HCS/SB 189 (2025), HB 529 (2025), HB 1456 (2025), HB 1476 (2025), and SB 1363 (2024), and is substantially similar to SB 1438 (2024) and HB 1784 (2024), and to a provision in SS/SCS/HB 225 (2025).
