HJR 181 -- INITIATIVE PETITIONS

Upon voter approval, this Constitutional amendment increases the voting threshold necessary to modify or repeal any statute enacted by initiative within certain time limitations.

During the first regular session of the General Assembly convening after the effective date of the statute, a vote of three-fourths of both chambers is required.

During the second regular session of the General Assembly convening after the effective date of the statute, a vote of two-thirds of both chambers is required.

During the third regular session of the General Assembly convening after the effective date of the statute, and all sessions thereafter, a vote of a simple majority of both chambers is required.

This bill is the same as HJR 38 (2023) and HJR 103 (2022).
