HB 2757 -- WAIVER OF CERTAIN INMATE FEES

SPONSOR: Anderson

Currently, the Division of Probation and Parole within the Department of Corrections has discretionary authority to require the payment of a fee, not to exceed $60 per month, from every offender on probation, parole, or conditional release, to waive all or part of any fee, or to sanction offenders for willful nonpayment of fees.

This bill requires the waiver of such fee for offenders who are not subject to lifetime supervision and do not require electronic monitoring services.

This bill is the same as HB 851 (2023) and HB 2687 (2022).
