Currently, the allowed transfer from the Hazardous Waste Fund to the Radioactive Waste Investigation Fund is capped at $150,000 per fiscal year and the investigation costs can not exceed $150,000 per fiscal year. This bill repeals these restrictions.
The bill also requires the Department of Natural Resources to seek reimbursement of expenses incurred during radioactive waste cleanup for any Federal agency responsible for the site.
