SECOND REGULAR SESSION

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 49 102ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVE MORSE. 5355H.01I DANA RADEMAN MILLER, Chief Clerk

WHEREAS, after the November 2020 presidential election, public confidence in the 2 accuracy of the vote count was low; and 3 4 WHEREAS, in some states a final count of votes took many weeks; and 5 6 WHEREAS, each state regulates federal elections using vastly different rules 7 involving voter eligibility, voter registration, voter identification, early voting, absentee 8 voting, deadlines for voting, types of ballots and voting machines, and rules for vote 9 counting; and 10 11 WHEREAS, uniform federal election laws would encourage faith in election results: 12 13 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the House of 14 Representatives of the One Hundred Second General Assembly, Second Regular Session, the 15 Senate concurring therein, hereby urge Congress to enact standardized voting rules and 16 procedures for all federal offices; and 17 18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the Missouri House of 19 Representatives be instructed to prepare a properly inscribed copy of this resolution for House 20 Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and the members of the 21 Missouri Congressional delegation. ✔
