HB 2583 -- HOMICIDE PREVENTION HOTLINE

SPONSOR: Bland Manlove

The bill requires the Department of Mental Health to establish and maintain a homicide prevention hotline, staffed 24 hours per day, seven days a week, for the purpose of assisting individuals who are experiencing homicidal thoughts. The hotline phone number will be toll-free and will be designated as 414. The Department will establish a specialized mobile response team to respond to callers who require its specialized services.
