Currently, the trustees of a five member board of a common sewer district may be paid a reasonable compensation for their services, if approved by a resolution of the board of trustees. The trustees of a 10-member board of trustees of a common sewer district and the trustees of a reorganized common sewer district cannot receive any compensation for their services.
This bill allows the trustees of both common and reorganized common sewer districts to be paid up to $100 per meeting, but not for more than two meetings per calendar month, by the district for their service. Members of a five member board of a common sewer district may also receive compensation for their services outside their duties as trustee.
The bill exempts the Little Blue Valley Sewer District from the new compensation provisions.
This bill is the same as HB 697 (2023).
