Upon voter approval, this proposed Constitutional amendment provides that crime victims will have the right to bring a civil cause of action against a defendant or any other person or entity that caused or contributed to cause the injury to the victim. The time frame to bring a cause of action under these provisions must be no shorter than the time frame under which a criminal case for the injury may be brought.
This bill is the same as SJR 57 (2024).
