HB 2294 -- EMPLOYER LIABILITY RELATING TO COVID-19 VACCINATION

SPONSOR: Riggs

This bill precludes an employer, as defined in the bill, from refusing to hire a prospective employee; terminating an employee, as defined in the bill; or refusing to promote an employee, for failure to receive or prove receipt of COVID-19 vaccine.

This bill authorizes an employee or prospective employee to bring a civil action in circuit court against an employer for violation of the provisions of the bill. The bill specifies the relief the court can grant and damages and reasonable costs. The bill also allows a class action to be maintained if the requirements of Missouri rules of civil procedure are met.
