This bill specifies that any person who resides in the state and owns or possesses a firearm shall obtain and continuously maintain an insurance policy covering losses or damages resulting from any accidental use of the firearm.
A person shall be deemed to be the owner of a lost or stolen firearm until the firearm is reported as lost or stolen to local law enforcement.
Any firearm owner must obtain the insurance required within 30 days of the effective date of the bill.
