This bill allows the board of trustees for consolidated public library districts to modify the existing district's fiscal year from July 1 to June 30 to a different set of dates. The budget shall still be approved before the end of the fiscal year set by the board.

This bill is similar to HB 437 (2023).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill will allow the library district to adjust its fiscal year, providing it with a better way to budget for the year and save interest money on bonds.

Testifying in person for the bill was Representative Banderman.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
