HB 1772 -- UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

Currently, a person who commits any felony is prohibited from possessing a firearm in this state. This bill establishes that a person commits the offense of unlawful possession of a firearm if such person knowingly possesses a firearm and has been convicted of a violent felony, as defined in the bill, or an out of state crime that would be a violent felony within the State of Missouri; or is on probation or parole for a non violent felony, as defined in the bill, or an out of state crime that would be a nonviolent felony within the State of Missouri.

This bill is similar to HB 2629 (2023).
