Currently, a person 75 years old or older may apply to the court to be excused from jury service. This bill decreases the age to 70 years old or older. Any jury duty notification sent out to a prospective juror must include information indicating that a person who is 70 years old or older may be excused from jury duty.
This bill is similar to HB 493 (2023) and HB 1887 (2022).
