This bill increases the gambling boat admission fee from $2 to $4. One dollar of the additional fee shall be paid to the Veteran Commission Capital Improvement Trust Fund, $0.50 each to the newly created "Steamboat Legacy Fund" and the "Transportation Legacy Fund". Each year, this fee shall be adjusted in accordance with the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer price index.
The bill establishes the "Steamboat Legacy Fund". The moneys in the fund shall be used for the construction, maintenance, operation, and purchase of materials related to the significance of the steamboat era history of Missouri for the national steamboat museum.
This provision sunsets December 31st, 15 years after the effective date.
