HB 1102 -- LABELING OF PRESCRIPTIONS

SPONSOR: Stephens

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Health and Mental Health Policy by a vote of 13 to 0. Voted "Do Pass" by the Standing Committee on Rules- Administrative Oversight by a vote of 8 to 0.

Currently, if an advanced practice registered nurse or a physician assistant is in a collaborative practice arrangement with a physician and prescribes a drug, the prescription must include the name of the physician assistant and the supervising physician. This bill repeals the requirement to include the name of the supervising physician.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill removes unnecessary hassle for care providers.

Testifying in person for the bill were Representative Stephens; Missouri Retailers Association; and the Missouri Academy Of Physicians Assistants.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

Written testimony has been submitted for this bill. The full written testimony and witnesses testifying online can be found under Testimony on the bill page on the House website.
