SJR 36 - Under current law, no person is eligible to serve more than 8 years in a single house of the General Assembly or more than 16 years total in both houses of the General Assembly. This constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, would extend those limits to 12 years in a single house of the General Assembly and 24 years total in both houses of the General Assembly. This constitutional amendment is substantially similar to SJR 49 (2022).
