The following is a summary of the House Committee Substitute for HB 68.
An employer is prohibited from terminating an employee for having a firearm in his or her vehicle on the employer's property if the employee's vehicle is locked and the firearm is not visible. Employers are not civilly liable for injuries or damages resulting from the use of stored firearms.
This bill is the same as HB 1567 (2020).

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill helps to protect individuals who are going to and from work. This maintains Second Amendment rights while also preventing liability to employers.
