This bill establishes the Office of Business Regulation and Land Ownership within the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. The commissioner of agriculture will appoint a director with expertise in antitrust law, property law, and agriculture-related businesses, and will also hire additional staff, including lawyers and economists, to assist in fulfilling the office's duties. The staff will be compensated according to state regulations and reimbursed for necessary expenses incurred while performing their official duties.
