This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 120B.024, by adding a new subdivision that waives certain graduation requirements for students enrolled in international baccalaureate (IB) programs. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, school districts and charter schools must grant a waiver of graduation credit requirements if a student, with parental consent, is on track to meet the requirements of an IB diploma or career-related program and would be unable to participate in these programs due to the credit requirement.

Additionally, the bill allows districts or charter schools to revoke the waiver if a student is not on track to meet the IB program requirements by the beginning of grade 12, in which case the student must fulfill the standard credit requirements. The new provisions are set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
