This bill modifies a prior appropriation for railroad crossing safety improvements in Hennepin County, specifically at Town Line Road in the cities of Medina and Independence. It amends Laws 2023, chapter 71, article 1, section 10, subdivision 9, to provide grants to Hennepin County, the city of Medina, the city of Independence, or a combination of these entities for the design, engineering, and construction of the necessary safety enhancements.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that the appropriation for these improvements will remain available until December 31, 2029, notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
