This bill modifies the Greater Minnesota Housing Infrastructure Grant Program by expanding the types of housing projects eligible for grants. Specifically, it amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 462A.395, subdivision 3, to include new categories of eligible projects such as home development qualifying for homestead treatment and housing projects funded under section 462A.39. The previous language that stated eligible projects "may be" has been replaced with "include," clarifying the types of projects that can receive funding.

Additionally, the bill appropriates $15,000,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for grants under this program. To facilitate this funding, the commissioner of management and budget is authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to the same amount. The bill also specifies that these provisions will take effect the day following final enactment.
