This bill proposes to waive parking fees at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for veterans with a total service-connected disability, as defined by the United States Veterans Administration. Starting January 1, 2027, eligible veterans will be able to park free of charge for up to ten consecutive or nonconsecutive days within a 90-day period. Any additional days of parking will incur the standard rate. The commission is tasked with establishing a process for waiving or abating these fees by December 1, 2026, and is required to conduct outreach with veterans organizations and post the process on the airport's website.

To qualify for the parking fee waiver, veterans must provide specific documentation, which includes a driver's license with a "Veteran 100% T&P" designation, a military identification card indicating a 100 percent disability rating, or a letter from the United States Department of Veteran Affairs confirming their disability rating. The new legal language for this initiative is proposed to be codified in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 473, and the section will take effect the day following final enactment.
