This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97A.485, subdivision 6, to increase the issuing fees for various hunting and fishing licenses. The new fees include $4 for residents and $6 for nonresidents for licenses to take deer or bear with firearms and by archery, as well as for small game, fish by angling or spearing, turkey, wolf, and other specified licenses. Previously, the issuing fee for these licenses was set at $1. The bill also maintains a $1 fee for applying for a limited hunt drawing unless a license purchase is required at the time of application.
Additionally, the bill specifies that the issuing fees for duplicate licenses will be 75 cents for big game licenses and 50 cents for other licenses. It includes a provision stating that the issuing fee must be stated on the license and that the fee is retained by the seller as a commission. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2026.
