The bill proposes an appropriation of $3,200,000 from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of Iron Range resources and rehabilitation for the acquisition, preparation, design, construction, renovation, furnishing, and equipping of a new facility for the Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm. This facility will include infrastructure to protect historical artifacts and archival materials, as well as space for museum exhibitions and cultural events. Additionally, the state is authorized to enter into a lease or management agreement for the operation of programs within the new facility.

To fund this appropriation, the bill authorizes the commissioner of management and budget to sell and issue state bonds up to the amount of $3,200,000, following the procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes and the Minnesota Constitution. The effective date of this section will be the day following its final enactment.
