The bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 123B.51, by adding a new subdivision that establishes limits on access to school sites by officials engaged in immigration enforcement. Under the new provisions, school district or charter school employees are prohibited from allowing entry to federal, state, or local officials for immigration enforcement purposes unless the officials present a valid judicial warrant. Additionally, school employees must request identification from the officials and can only grant access to areas specified in the warrant. If entry is granted, the school employee is required to immediately notify the district superintendent or the administrative head of the charter school, along with the school's legal representative.

The bill also clarifies that this new subdivision does not restrict entry by officials administering state or federally supported educational programs. Furthermore, it includes a severability clause, ensuring that if any part of the act is deemed unconstitutional, the remaining provisions will still be valid. The effective date for this section is set for the day following its final enactment.
