The proposed bill seeks to prohibit the establishment of vaccine requirements by state agencies and political subdivisions in Minnesota. Specifically, it states that no state agency or political subdivision may adopt or enforce any regulations that require individuals to be vaccinated against communicable diseases or to provide proof of vaccination. Additionally, businesses operating in Minnesota are also barred from implementing similar vaccination requirements for individuals seeking to enter, work at, or receive services from those businesses.
However, the bill includes exceptions for vaccine requirements that are already established under specific sections of Minnesota law, namely sections 121A.15 and 135A.14, as well as regulations outlined in Minnesota Rules, chapter 4604. The new provisions are proposed to be codified in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 145, and will take effect the day following final enactment.
