This bill mandates the reporting of fires involving alternative energy systems, which are defined as systems that harness energy from renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal. It requires the chief of the fire department, or the mayor or town clerk in areas without a fire department, to report any incidents involving these systems to the state fire marshal. The reports must include details about the cause, origin, circumstances of the fire, financial damages incurred, and any injuries or fatalities, and should be submitted as soon as practicable.

Additionally, the state fire marshal is tasked with compiling these reports and submitting an annual summary to the relevant legislative committees by February 15 of the following year. This initiative aims to enhance public safety by ensuring that incidents involving alternative energy systems are systematically documented and analyzed.
