The Minnesota Senate has passed a resolution congratulating Dr. Dave Tilstra for receiving the 2025 Copic/MMA Humanitarian Award, which is given annually to a physician who significantly improves health care in their community. Dr. Tilstra, a clinical geneticist with over 30 years of experience, is recognized for his commitment to promoting healthy living through various initiatives. He has worked with patients suffering from rare disorders and has founded health care programs such as BLEND and Feeling Good MN, which focus on nutrition, exercise, and community design. His advocacy extends to enhancing active transportation infrastructure and making healthy food more accessible in the St. Cloud area.

In addition to his award, Dr. Tilstra has chosen to donate the $10,000 associated with the Copic/MMA Humanitarian Award to the CentraCare Health Foundation's Ian Lo Unique Genetic Blueprint #1342 fund, which supports genetic testing for families unable to afford it. The resolution expresses gratitude for Dr. Tilstra's exceptional contributions to the community and directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare an authenticated copy of the resolution for him.
