This bill appropriates $808,000 from the general fund for fiscal year 2027 to support the establishment of a Dakota language immersion public charter school for children from birth through grade 4 in the Lower Sioux Indian Community, located in Redwood County. The funds are designated for the predesign and design phases of the school project and are available until the project is either completed or abandoned, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
Additionally, the bill includes a provision stating that the effective date of this appropriation will be the day following its final enactment. This ensures that the funding can be accessed promptly to facilitate the development of the charter school.
