The Senate resolution honors the memory of David J. Jergenson, who was born on January 1, 1918, in Donnelly, Minnesota. He was the seventh of eleven children and worked on the family farm until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. David served honorably during World War II in Algeria and Italy, achieving the rank of Tech Sergeant before being discharged in 1945. After his military service, he returned to Donnelly, married Julette Gilbertson in 1946, and later purchased a farm where they raised mink. David continued to work on the mink ranch with his son even after retiring in 1982, and he was recognized as "Fur Rancher of the Year" in 2012.

In addition to his farming contributions, David and Julette spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona, where they enjoyed social activities and built friendships. He was an active member of the VFW in Alexandria, where he cherished the camaraderie of fellow veterans. David Jergenson passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 107. The resolution acknowledges his military service, community contributions, and extends condolences to his family and friends, while also directing the Secretary of the Senate to prepare an authenticated copy of the resolution for his family.
