The Senate resolution congratulates the University of Minnesota Army ROTC for its remarkable achievement at the 2025 Sandhurst Military Skills Competition, where the battalion secured first place among all ROTC programs and second place overall. This accomplishment marks a historic milestone, as it makes the University of Minnesota ROTC the highest-achieving team to ever compete in the prestigious event, which is recognized globally for its rigorous challenges and is held annually at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The resolution acknowledges the leadership of Captain Jamieson Barnes and Master Sergeant Ivan Krestyn, who guided the Golden Gopher Battalion to this unprecedented success, as well as Cadet Charles Frattalone for his exemplary role as team captain. In recognition of their service and dedication, the Senate expresses gratitude to the University of Minnesota ROTC and directs the Secretary of the Senate to prepare an official copy of the resolution to be sent to the battalion.
