This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 256I.05, by adding a new subdivision that establishes a supplemental rate for housing support providers in Otter Tail County. Starting July 1, 2025, county agencies will be required to negotiate a supplemental rate for up to 24 beds, which will be in addition to the existing rate specified in subdivision 1. This supplemental rate cannot exceed the maximum allowed under subdivision 1a, including any inflationary adjustments authorized by the legislature.

The purpose of this supplemental rate is to support housing providers in Otter Tail County that offer room and board, as well as supplementary services, to adults who are recovering from substance use disorders, mental illness, or facing housing instability. This initiative aims to enhance the resources available for these vulnerable populations in the county.
