The Minnesota Senate has passed a resolution honoring Steven Strom for receiving the prestigious 2025 Star of Life Award from the Minnesota Ambulance Association. Established in 1960, the Minnesota Ambulance Association aims to promote excellence in the ambulance industry and created the Star of Life Award to recognize EMS professionals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to patient care, mentorship, and the overall EMS system. Steven Strom, an emergency medical technician with Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service, has made a significant impact in his nearly two years of service, exemplified by his dedication to putting patients' needs first, including a notable instance where he facilitated a reunion between a patient and their spouse during critical moments.

The resolution commends Steven for his exemplary service and highlights his reliability as a team member, as well as his empathy and dedication to the EMS profession. It also acknowledges his family's tradition of public service, with his father in law enforcement and his sister as a 911 dispatcher. In addition to his professional commitments, Steven enjoys outdoor activities, movies, traveling, and video games. The Senate resolution concludes by directing the Secretary of the Senate to prepare an authenticated copy of the resolution to be transmitted to Steven Strom.
