This bill mandates that health plan companies in Minnesota must compensate providers of outpatient behavioral health services at a minimum rate of 143 percent of the Medicare rate, as determined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The definition of outpatient behavioral health services encompasses a range of treatments, including outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services.
Additionally, the bill specifies that this payment requirement does not extend to coverage for enrollees in state public health care programs under chapters 256B or 256L. The proposed legal language for this requirement is to be codified in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q, under the new section designated as [62Q.138].
