The bill mandates the commissioner of health to conduct a feasibility study for a state-run web platform designed specifically for seniors. This platform aims to facilitate communication and coordination between seniors and various stakeholders, including health care providers, insurers, and state agencies. Key features of the platform will include appointment scheduling, direct communication with providers and insurers, and a single sign-on access system. Participation by providers will be voluntary, and the platform will be funded through fees charged to those who choose to participate.
In the process of conducting the feasibility study, the commissioner is required to consult with a diverse group of stakeholders, including information technology experts, aging services providers, and advocates for seniors, among others. The study will assess the necessary capabilities of the platform, its creation costs, and ongoing maintenance expenses. The findings of this study must be reported to the relevant legislative committees by February 1, 2026.
